Infrastructure bottlenecks [and] capacity constraints the biggest threat to prosperity
Headline in The Australian
April 2011

Whether you have problems in planning, with inadequate mine-side infrastructure, choked transportation, congestion at stockyards, port-side infrastructure or ship loading Halcrow will work with you to find the best solutions to solve your capacity constraints.

That may be through new infrastructure; through improved planning and movement of resources; or by optimising the utilisation of the assets you already own.

We take pride in working out innovative, cost-effective, environmentally sound solutions to help you reach your objectives.

For the $1 billion Roy Hill iron ore project in the Pilbara, Halcrow is providing civil infrastructure design for the portside facilities, including 26km of heavy haul rail and the mine’s rail infrastructure yard. We’re also designing the commercial buildings and mine-side facilities for the new iron-ore mine at Hope Downs 4, delivering design solutions for earthworks and retaining structures, complex concrete structures, heavy vehicle maintenance and refuelling points, warehousing and administration buildings, roads, drainage systems and storage for explosives.

Applying our value engineering skills to these $100+million projects in Western Australia, we’ve secured substantial savings for our clients, while ensuring the mines can achieve their full production capacity on time.
