Halcrow firmly supports the Kyoto Protocol, and seeks to assist governments in meeting their targets for renewable energy generation.

Over recent years, increasing global awareness of the consequences of climate change, as well as growing anxieties over energy security at the national level, have pushed renewables to the forefront of the political and corporate agenda. The need to reduce our reliance on fossil fuels, through investment in clean energy sources, is now widely recognised at an international level.

Formed in 1979, our renewables team has expanded to a pool of 80 UK staff that can provide technical expertise on clean technologies including solar power (photovoltaic and thermal), wind power (onshore and offshore), biomass, marine renewables and hydropower.

Halcrow provides a full suite of consultancy services in the renewable energy sector, spanning the entire project life cycle.

These services include:

  • management of research and development
  • market feasibility studies
  • Environmental services (e.g. Environmental Impact Assessment)
  • investment appraisal and due diligence
  • project design and planning
  • supervision of installation
  • ongoing monitoring and assessment of project performance

We also provide valued guidance and advice to international, national, regional and local governments and development agencies. Indeed, we believe we have the skills and capabilities to meet every possible need when it comes to renewable energy.
